Two Toned Eye

Playing with eyeshadow is probably one of my favorite things to do. Every morning, I decide who I want to be and what I want to look like that day. Sometimes it is based on my mood, a new trend or even a new palette I purchased. I love experimenting and creating new looks for myself. This look is quite simple honestly: take whatever two colors you like and try to put them together across your eyelid. The colors can be similar or next to each other on the rainbow, like below, or from opposite sides of the color wheel, like pictured at the end of this post. My love for warm orangey-reds and pinks will never die, so I decided to put these colors together with a pop of yellow in the inner corners of my eye to add some contrast. Instead of doing my signature ‘no eyeliner’ look with a colored eye, I decided to do a bold wing to see how it would pair with the look and to just add some more drama. It is Fall now, so makeup can be warmer and more dramatic. I added a blushy pink cheek and bold volumizing mascara to stay with the theme. My lips are plain because I prefer to keep a neutral lip with a bold eye and I honestly just love the natural color of my lips.

I chose a Mac Cosmetics eye palette that they sold a year ago but is no longer for sale. Feel free to use your favorite color tones to recreate this technique and create your own personalize two-toned eye look. Experiment and have fun! Makeup is meant to be played with and tried, you will never know until you do it. Just remember to blend blend blend!!

Products I used: Mac Cosmetics themed palette sold out (similar here) / Buxom mascara / Smashbox liquid liner / Glossier boy brow and cloud paint in puff

Here is another version of this technique that I created using two different colors of the color wheel spectrum to produce a color block effect. These shadows are from Il Makiage.
