I’m obsessed with trends in makeup because they are always varying and can change within the week. A few weeks ago, one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram, Katie Jane Hughs, did a makeup sequence that she described as #biglilacenergy in a short makeup tutorial she had on Insta-stories. I love playing with color and watching her do different makeup looks. It always gets me inspired to try new things on myself and I had to hop on this trend and document it.
The eye look is quite simple, just shades of lilac eyeshadow layered until the intensity is quite noticeable from afar. I used Glossier Lidstar in Lilly as a base and then applied MAC Cosmetics eyeshadow X9 palette (sold out) similar here as a top coat to further intensify the lilac color. Lidstar is so easy to use, you just swipe it on a blend in with your fingers. I tend to mix different Lidstar colors together to create a new tone. In this case, following the lilac trend, I wanted to take the color up a notch. I feel like this eyeshadow look is super girly, yet modern and can be taken from day to night very easily. I kept the rest of my makeup neutral with just some light pink blush on the cheeks and my lips bare. Eyebrow gel by Glossier Boy Brow and lashes are Lash Slick.
Sorry, no tutorial video for this look! But this is an eyeshadow I will probably do more than once 🙂
