BECCA Cosmetics teamed up with makeup artist Jaclyn Hill to make line of makeup palettes and highlighters. Jaclyn originally only made Champagne Pop last year when their collaboration started and I am so happy they continued their partnership to create this beautiful line. The collection open up online Sephora on May 26 (in Sephora stores on June 16) and I made sure I was up and ready to purchase the face palette and the eyeshadow palette!
I first purchased the Champagne Pop highlighter (below) by itself last summer when Jaclyn announced their collaboration. I was ecstatic because I love watching Jaclyn’s tutorials, especially following her on snapchat, she’s so funny and sweet!
The face palette (below) includes two highlighters, Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop, and three blushes. I like to blend the two highlighters together to give it more of an intense shine, but either color is so beautiful on the skin. It is definitely the best highlighter powder I have ever used… talk about highlight on fleek!
The eyeshadow palette (below) includes five shades that range from light to dark. I love neutral eyeshadows and sparkly golds, so this palette was a must! The three matte colors are really good for applying in the crease of the eyelid and on the outer corners. They can even be applied on the under eyelid for a smoky eye effect. The gold is absolutely stunning, along with the shimmery cream color.
Also from last year, BECCA and Jaclyn Hill created a cheek palette (below) that includes a blush, Champagne Pop highlighter, and a pearl highlighter. This palette is also extremely stunning, especially if you are going more for a dramatic look or a summer glow.
As you can see, I am a little bit obsessed with this collection. The collection also includes a poured cream version of Champagne Pop and a liquid version of Champagne Pop. I am not sure if the face palette and the eyeshadow palette are permanent, but I’m sure BECCA said they were keeping the Champagne Pop powder, liquid, and poured cream versions a permanent product. You can learn more on Sephora, BECCA COSMETICS, or Jaclyn Hill’s website. If you missed the online opening, the collection comes to Sephora stores on June 16!!
**Recently, according to Jaclyn Hill’s snapchat and Twitter, it appears that the eyeshadow palette will not be available June 16 due to inconsistency of the eyeshadow formulas. About 30% of users loved it and 70% said they were splotchy and dry. I am one of the 30% who loved their palette. I will admit it was a little difficult to blend but, after a little bit of effort it worked out nicely on my eyelids. On Jaclyn’s snapchat, she states that she doesn’t put her name on something she believes in and since this was not up to her standards and her subscribers aren’t satisfied, she would rather pull the palette and refund people’s money than continue to sell it. I think it is a brave and smart decision and I respect her for that.
I’m sorry about this, but I loved it and I hope she does more!
Sorry just an update, I didn’t want to give out misinformation about release dates. Thank you!! 🙂 **
